And then, ha ha, the VERY NEXT DAY I got an email from the wife of the other couple that we had not heard from in MONTHS. Months. She emailed just to check in and see how we were doing, to say that they got to visit Chicago a few weeks ago and thought of us (even went to our old church! Crazy!), and let us know that they had had a ridiculous summer of buying a new home and moving to a new part of town, and out of town guests, and new jobs, and tons of Life Stuff.
Ha ha ha ha ha.... Well don't I feel like a judgey jerk.
But the upshot is that we're going to meet up with them soon, and be reconnected, and remember that relationships are bumpy and they take time.
Oh, and we've been invited to a bunch of things recently by people from our smallgroup.
So it's not that I am ADVOCATING a ranty blog post or anything, but I'm just sayin'. I put it out there, people prayed for us, I realized that I needed to do some praying, and then... well... there come the new friends, being all friendly and stuff.

Jesus is funny. And oh, so good.
