The Golden Afternoon

How much are you LOVING all this daylight? Come on, Chicago, if you can't muster up a full-blown spring, can we at least get warm enough to leave the gloves and hats at home?

But the extra sunlight helps a lot. It makes me happy every day to come home from work and realize that it is still light out.  Not dusk, mind you, but LIGHT!

And, despite all my railings about imported flowers and the carbon footprint of the traditional floral industry, I caved at the grocery store and spent $1.99 on these beauties:

afternoon sunlight!

Got to watch them open in just 2 days from pert little buds.

Holy Moley, I love flowers. Thank you, Jesus, for pretty flowers that smell like the memories of daffodil-scented crayons from days gone by. (Personally, I think daffodil-scented things sometimes smell better than the flowers themselves, but these smell like sunshine and spring).

The best $2 I have spent in a LONG time.
