two girlfriends and i browsed around some trendy shi-shi sidewalk sales yesterday after church. they walked in front of me, because i was slowly gawking and touching and eyeballing all the lovely things laid out on the sidewalk in front of boutiques that are way out of my price range.

friend 1 turns around and laughs at me:
'i saw you staring across the street at that purse store! keep walking!'

me: 'i can't help it! i just love beautiful things!'

friend 1 (laughing): ' just like men!'

me: 'yeah, but unlike men, every once in a while i throw a not-beautiful thing a bone. you know, something comfortable and basic and something i can afford.'

yeah we all laughed. one of those uncomfortable, ouch, why do we feel like this? sort of laughs.
