candy everybody wants

oof! what a lot of junk i have eaten over the last couple of days. ridiculous.

i love that there are so many fabulous song titles out there, it makes the blog posting process so much more fun (at least for me).

well, i have a blind date tonight. yessirree. first blind date in 7 years. my first and only other blind date is probably my all-time best dating story. for those of you who have heard it, i am of course referring to the infamous "did you notice my humorous tie?" guy. i'm pretty sure some of my friends have confessed to telling their friends about that blind date from the twilight zone.

sigh.

this sort of scenario is certainly a test for my optimism experiment. my current excitement alert level is at about a pale yellow. stickin' with my 'keep your expectations low and you just may be pleasantly surprised' mantra for this one. (ps - this is the guy that my guy friend G has set me up with. M did eventually email me this week).

ooof again. i should not have eaten all this candy this week! sure, i've been getting up at 6 to go to the gym before work most days, but i'm pretty sure that doesn't offset the halloween candy intake very much. too bad i cannot buy 'candy offsets' for my love handles like i could buy 'carbon offsets' for the flight when i booked my plane ticket to portland.

speaking of the portland jaunt, i got to chat some more to Epic Ex at a party last night. it really does feel excellent to be able to hang out with him socially more lately. i will liken it to the way that squirrels are storing up acorns and things for the long winter - i am storing up comfortable, pleasant, non-panic interactions with Epic Ex for the inevitable freak-out winter of the fiance's arrival and their wedded bliss....

i actually had a whole slew of things to write about today, but i cannot seem to remember them all of a sudden. maybe it's the caramel apple with nuts sitting on the desk behind me, whispering 'eat me' all afternoon. it's destracting. someone should really eat that thing and put an end to its nonsense...mmmmm..... caramel.....
